Actually as you can probably see it is identified on the front as a Perkin Elmer Graphics Plotter 2 but as far as I can tell it’s just a regular HP 7470A with the Perkin Elmer logo on it.
When powered up the pen holder moves to the left, grabs the pen, then puts it back in the holder and moves away an inch or so.
I can get the paper to advance, the pen to move back and forth but as far as actually testing it to plot that is beyond my pay grade.
And I need to say that some of the motions described are kinda herky jerky although they seemed to improve a bit as I kept playing with them.
I have been sitting on this plotter for probably at least ten years never having the time or the inclination to try and get it listed.
And who knows how long it sat before that.
I would assume the control panel could use a good shot of contact cleaner and the paper path needs to be cleaned as well.
At that point, if you know what you are doing, you might have a functional plotter.
Might.
